Majority of the works are completed ourselves having our own areas of expertise and only one project is taken on at any time, this ensures the client receives a dedicated service in a timely manner.
While we pride ourselves on having a broad range of skills . We also collaborate closely with a network trusted local contractors, who we have worked with for many years. We only work with contractors who also pride themselves on quality workmanship, this includes plumbing, plastering, electrics and surveying services.
So who are we:
Mike Brown
With over 20 years experience, in first fix joinery and roofing, I pride myself on customer satisfaction. Many customers have become life long friends. Born in the Harrogate area, studying at metal fabrication at South West Durham Training Centre and Leeds Technology College at 17, I then began my career at a local loft conversion company specialising in Truss Loft conversions. Working around the country on many projects, has given me a huge amount of experience and knowledge. I am proud to say I have worked on roof at Buckingham Palace early in my career. Having moved out of the area with my family, in 2023 I returned to my home town of Harrogate and partnered with Graham who I have know for over 20 years, Voakes and Brown Loft Conversions was established combining our skills to create a company we are very proud of.
Graham Voakes
With over 25 years experience in first and second fix joinery my main mission is focusing on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, always ensuring that every project meets the highest standards. Born in the Knaresborough area, into a well known farming family, deciding that farming was not the career for me, I completed an apprenticeship in advanced carpentry after finishing school. I first met Mike when working at a local loft conversion company in 2007. I went on to establish my own company in 2012, I am very proud to say that nearly all our work comes from word of mouth. In 2023 after working with various subcontractors I joined forces with Mike where we are now able to provide a consistent reliable team.
Since 2023 when Voakes and Brown was founded we have experienced steady growth. We continue to rely on customer recommendations for on going work. We believe ensuring our pricing is competitive and completing the works ourselves, we can guarantee our workmanship is of the very best quality.
We are on site every day, to answer any questions you may have and make any necessary changes. We do not subcontract our work to a team of tradesmen and we do not have various projects taking place at one time. This ensures you have dedicated quality contractors focused on completing your renovation to the highest standard.
